Customer Service/Cashier (#8)

Cockerham Food Mart #8 located at 45 Kelly Road, Fancy Gap, VA is looking for Customer Service/Cashier.

Cockerham is a 3rd generation, locally owned and operated, business operating 8 convenience stores (Galax, Hillsville, & Fancy Gap, VA), Hampton Inn and the Pizza Inn/TCBY in Hillsville, VA.

Primary Job Duties:

• Provides fast and efficient service
• Operate electronic cash register by ringing transactions, collecting money or processing credit card transactions
• Uses other equipment to process transactions such as EBT purchases and lottery/lotto sales
• Check ID's for age restricted items (Cigarettes, lottery/lotto, etc.)
• Stocking shelves and cooler while rotating product
• Removes all damages and out of code merchandise from the shelves
• Clean all areas, using proper cleaning procedures and materials, including (but not limited to) counter tops, microwaves, shelves, floors, windows, cooler doors, food service equipment, restrooms, and parking lots
• Check in vendors as needed following company guidelines
• Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned to accommodate store operational needs

Requirements and Skills:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds with or without assistance
• Experience in retail environment/food service preferred
• Reliable and accountable
• Flexibility with scheduling
• Must be able to work second shift
