What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Front Office Medical Assistant position at CoCo Dermatology and Cosmetics?
- Patient Check-In/Check-Out:
- Greet patients warmly and ensure a positive first impression of the office.
- Verify patient information and update medical records as needed.
- Collect insurance information and co-pays, ensuring proper documentation and billing procedures.
- Scheduling & Patient Coordination:
- Schedule appointments and manage provider calendars.
- Confirm appointments and follow up on cancellations and rescheduling as needed.
- Assist in coordinating patient referrals and follow-up care.
- Medical Records & Documentation:
- Accurately input and update patient medical records and histories.
- Ensure all documentation is properly filed and maintained according to office protocols.
- Insurance Verification & Billing Support:
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
- Assist with insurance claims, payment collection, and billing inquiries.
- Clinical Support:
- Assist providers with basic medical tasks, such as preparing exam rooms and sterilizing instruments as needed
- Assist with minor dermatological procedures and treatments under the supervision of the medical provider as needed
- Prepare patient charts and ensure all necessary information is available for provider consultations.
- Patient Education & Communication:
- Provide patients with pre-procedure instructions, medication information, and follow-up care guidelines.
- Answer phone calls and provide excellent customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns.
- Communicate effectively with patients, medical staff, and other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
- Other Administrative Duties:
- Maintain a clean and organized front office and exam rooms as needed
- Assist with inventory management, ordering medical supplies, and ensuring the office is fully stocked.
- Assist with office projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical office, preferably in dermatology or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of dermatological procedures and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- A positive attitude and a passion for patient care.
