Maintenance Technician I (PT)

Positions at this level are responsible for performing a variety of entry level trade duties related to routine maintenance repair, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, grounds, and other related tasks. This is a temporary (May thru August), full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm position.

• Assists Maintenance Tech II and III with tasks as directed by the direct Supervisor.
• Delivers, picks up materials, and performs other related errands.
• Maintains the grounds and exterior of the campuses including: mowing, weed eating, cleaning sidewalks & parking lots, tree trimming, sign installation, and striping of parking lots.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skilled in performing basic general maintenance and custodial duties. Ability to maintain a cooperative working relationship with college administrators, faculty, staff, students, and the general public.

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of full-time related experience; OR
• Associates degree and 1 year of full-time related experience in general maintenance; OR
• Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or related experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job and/or as approved by the Executive Director of Human Resources.
• Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license, including a clean MVR for the past 60 months.

Preferred
Knowledgeable in general maintenance.
