What are the responsibilities and job description for the SISS Tutor position at Coconino Community College?
Strengthening Indigenous Student Success (SISS)tutors are responsible to support students to become more independent learners, persist in college, and reach their academic goals. Tutors provide individual and/or group tutoring to students across a broad range of courses. Tutors will foster positive, supporting relationships with students by offering guidance, support, and encouragement.
Tutors meet with students to clarify and review concepts taught in class, explain processes and help students solve specific problems. The SISS program is now hiring one position for the Page Center in Page, AZ.
Applicants must be available in the months of June and July to assist with the SISS Summer Bridge program. This is a temporary, part-time (3-19 hours per week), non-benefits eligible position.
There will be mandatory orientation TBD and mandatory trainings during the academic year (Times/dates to be determined later). Failure to attend orientation/training will result in your inability to be employed for this position.
Preferred
Associate’s degree or higher in a related field. Ability to use various computer database applications. Knowledge of college study skills.
