Summer S.T.E.A.M. Camp Assistant

Are you passionate about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) education and eager to inspire middle school students? Coconino Community College is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Summer Camp Assistant to support our Summer S.T.E.A.M. Camps in a temporary, non-credit position. 

The summer camp assistant at Coconino Community College is responsible for assisting the instructors on providing an engaging, hands-on lessons in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and/or Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) for rising 6th-9th grade students with an emphasis in career exploration in these fields. This position requires an individual who can effectively support the management of a classroom, and has strong skills in communication, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and collaboration.

Work hours are based on the number of weeks selected for each camps. For weeks that you are participating in camps, the standard work hours will be Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-2:30pm (camps will be 9:00am-2:00pm). 

 ALL Instructors must complete the Summer Camp Assistant Proposal Form. Note that if you are currently a CCC employee, you only need to complete the Proposal Form and do not need to apply for the position here.

Proficiency in a S.T.E.A.M. subject area as demonstrated by any completed higher education program, certification, and/or equivalent professional or volunteer experience reflected in a professional resume. Assistants must be over the age of 18 years old. 

Preferred
Experience working with middle school students, with a strong understanding of project-based learning and hands-on instructional support.
