What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tutor I position at Coconino Community College?
Coconino Community College tutors serve a diverse student population by providing free tutorial services (subjects needs vary throughout the year). We invite applicants from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences that represent CCC’s student population. The primary responsibilities of a tutor are to support students to become more independent learners, persist in college, and reach their academic goals. Tutors provide individual and/or group tutoring to students across a broad range of courses based on course you are approved to tutor. Tutors meet with students to clarify and review concepts taught in class, explain processes and help students solve specific problems. Tutors work with other tutors and the Tutor Coordinator to support their own professional development. These positions are part-time 3-19 hours/week, 32 weeks/year, non-benefit eligible and the compensation is $17.85 per hour.
This position is for two separate tutoring programs, Drop-In tutoring and the TRIO program, successful applications may have the opportunity to work for both programs.
There will be a mandatory orientation and mandatory trainings during the academic year (Times/dates to be determined later). Failure to attend orientation/trainings will result in your inability to be employed for this position.

- Provides one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions for students in person and online.

Documented A or B in the content area to be tutored or high school diploma and 20-30 hours of college credit and ability to provide tutoring and learning assistance in at least one subject that is in demand, or any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Recommendation from someone who can speak to your knowledge and ability to tutor specific content.
Preferred
Associate’s degree or higher in a related field. Experience working with a diverse population. Ability to use various computer database applications. Knowledge of college study skills.
