Under general supervision performs professional and supervisory work of considerable difficulty in the administration of construction plan review and inspections; perform related work as required. (Illustrative Only)
• Plans, coordinates and supervises the enforcement of building safety codes
• Provides leadership and supervises staff
• Performs construction plans review
• Develops policies and standards
• Communicates with applicants and interested parties regarding code compliance
• Assures consistent interpretation, implementation and enforcement of codes
• Reviews new codes
• Investigates and resolves complaints
• Represents the department in legal hearings, public meetings, and interagency workgroups
• Prepares and maintains records and reports
Essential functions include but are not limited to: driving; standing; walking; working with and around others including co-workers, customers and supervisor; dealing with interruptions; repetitive motions (hand/wrist) for computer work; vision acuity (near and far) for computer work; hearing and speech for ordinary communication; and touch (finger dexterity).
Five years of progressively responsible experience in building inspection and construction plan review, with two years in a supervisory capacity.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess ICC Certified Building Official Certificate.

Salary : $76,683 - $84,351
