The Sample Manager is responsible for acquiring, tracking and organizing product samples as they move throughout the production process. In this role, the Sample Manager will handle all aspects of sample management for a high volume retailer client, including inventory control and product tracking to ensure all production guidelines are followed and timelines are met. The Sample Manager will have excellent attention to detail, be extremely data driven, process oriented, and organized. The ideal candidate will have experience in sample management, merchandising, ecommerce production or styling. This role is based onsite in our studios in downtown Los Angeles.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Track manage flow of merchandise throughout all stages of the photo production process from sample check in, on set, through to final merchandise return.
- Maintain merchandise room and prop closet organization at all times.
- Ensure that product information is correct, products are properly tagged and are in acceptable shoot condition.
- Act as a liaison between client and IC to gather all relevant and necessary product information for production and maintain data accuracy of all products in our sample management system.
- Work with the client to resolve any missing samples - scrub data and work through sample discrepancy issues as they arise.
- Work closely with the production team to create the shoot schedule for each week, based on sample priorities, due dates, required turnarounds for the client, available merchandise and allocation by brand.
- Export, compile, and deliver reporting for both internal and external purposes.
- Manage ever changing closet of props including apparel and accessory items - products will be added and removed each week, and will need to be organized by brand and propping guidelines.
- Work closely with the Styling team to ensure that products are photographed correctly and paired with appropriate prop pieces.
- Partner with digital and retouching teams to facilitate samples through post production workflows.
- Proactively identify, communicate, and solve any merchandise issues that arise throughout the production process.
- Continually brainstorm ways to improve upon the sample workflow to create efficiencies and reduce error.
- Provide on set assistance as needed, serving as the “go-to” expert on all products and our sample management system.
- 3-5 years experience in sample management, merchandising or ecom related positions.
- Need to be extremely data and process driven, and be very detail oriented.
- Computer savvy with advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel. Need to be extremely comfortable working with data heavy documents and spreadsheets.
- Must possess excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work within tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $60,000-75,000 annually. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience, and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
