House Manager (Temporary )
Schedule Tuesday-Saturday 8am -5pm
SUMMARY: The House Manager position provides property management and recovery mentor services for tenants residing in our supported housing program for women reunifying with their children. The House Manager is responsible for proactively communicating with team members, including the facilities manager and program supervisor, regarding tenancy behaviors related to tenant recovery and site needs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Provide property management related activities including conducting house tours for prospective tenants; completing move-in and move-out documents and inspections; maintaining tenancy files; collecting and recording rent receipts, communicating with facilities regarding property maintenance, and other related activities as needed.
- Conduct weekly facility walkthroughs inside and outside of property and submit property condition report with routine maintenance requests to facilities manager.
- Report urgent property concerns immediately to facilities manager.
- Schedule and facilitate weekly house meetings to promote a recovery supported community.
- Ensure the assignment of household chores during house meeting and report any recovery related issues to Program Supervisor.
- Request room inspections monthly following protocol; if there is a justifiable concern requiring more immediate attention, contact facilities for instructions on room entrance notices.
- Notify Program Supervisor in a timely manner of safety and risk concerns including lease violations.
- Transport patients in CODA vehicle to outpatient service programs or appointments.
- Order household supplies monthly.
- Follow incident response procedures for all emergencies.
- Collect and distribute mail.
- Make daily contact with each tenant to assure safety and well-being.
- Respond to cell phone calls to assure availability within normal house hours; be available for emergency calls after hours.
- Participate in weekly supervision with both supervisor and mentor group.
- Actively participate in training and development activities.
- Provide training and information to other team members as needed.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality are required of this position.

Qualifications

- Provide assistance and coverage for other team members as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- Effective customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Understanding of substance use issues in early recovery and recovery management including maintenance of professional boundaries.
- Exercise good judgment in evaluation of tenancy issues.
- Ability to utilize both oral and written communications skills to effectively communicate with tenants, co-workers, community resources, supervisors, and various other individuals encountered in the course of performing work while maintaining tenant confidentiality and professional rapport.
- Ability to accurately perform basic math computations.
- Basic computer skills sufficient to efficiently utilize online forms, word processing, communicate via email, and retrieve information from the internet.
