Our Client is a growing alternative asset management firm currently seeking a Director for their growing Real Estate/Debt practice. Ideal individual will step into the leading role, managing and scaling the firms' new Mid-West Team, crafting the strategy for business line
with a focus on CRE Investments (structuring and origination) working closely with legacy Investment Committee.
Firm is looking for a strong leader who will cultivate portfolio insights, develop the value proposition, and execute strategy. Your role will include accountability for developing a practice focused on providing a customized CRE platform, including but not limited to development and execution of new business, championing the strategic and operational planning process for growth of new division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expand business line dedicated to insurance clientele, including development of business models, revenue streams, and a go-to-market strategy. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices
- Lead the development & management of CRE Structured Finance platform
- Develop of compelling value propositions and market leading products and services based on firms current and future client needs in the specific Insurance industry best practice.
- Responsible for credit review, origination oversight, and investment committee recommendation
- Advise clients and oversee implementation of strategic and implementation issues, such as asset allocation, investment manager / vehicle selection and oversight, risk / performance management and evaluation, and research on investment management strategies
- Drive the development of internal products tailored to the clients insurance sector's unique needs
- Product management of proprietary financial institutions solutions
- Manage the fundamental due diligence and analytical effort during the insurance transaction process.
- Partner across the firms various business units to deliver value for the firm
- Develop a network of contacts within the Insurance/Alternative Investment community through deal negotiations, due diligence activities and attendance at industry conferences and other networking opportunities.
- Partnering with asset class investment teams to implement strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions, including evaluating deployment opportunities in furtherance of overall portfolio objectives
- Conduct research across private & public credit markets, including collaborating with dedicated sector investment teams to maintain real-time views on asset class characteristics and performance drivers
- Create key presentations for insurance company clients, rating agencies, and investors
- Lead day-to-day portfolio management for insurers, including strategic asset allocation analysis, portfolio construction optimization, and custom liability-hedging & asset-liability matching analysis
- Develop and maintaining portfolio models, performance & risk analytics, and other relevant monitoring / reporting tools.
- Collaborate with our Research, Engineering, Legal, Compliance and Finance teams to take products from conceptualization to launch. Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy that leverages our capabilities to create innovative solutions
What you need to succeed:
- 10 years of experience in the alternative investment industry
- 10 years of experience in selling and delivering portfolio management services to clients, ideally in the Insurance/Financial Services sector
- CFA designation is strongly recommended; MBA/MFE (or equivalent) is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in building trusted advisor relationships within Insurance business in relevant insurance markets, private equity, private credit/insurance vertical M&A
- Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and team-oriented candidates with strong problem-solving skills

Salary : $375,000 - $500,000
