Institutional Equity Salesperson

We are representing one of the most highly regarded equity research platforms in the industry in their search for an Institutional Salesperson.
This is a growth hire as the firm seeks to expand its robust client base. With over two decades already spent serving sophisticated money managers, this person will inherit an existing book and join a firm where they can be confident in product-market fit, evidenced by excellent retention metrics and a sterling reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Build, nurture, and grow strong relationships with institutional investors and portfolio managers. This is a consultative sale that requires an understanding of thematic investment strategies.
- Collaborate with Research Teams: Work closely with Analysts and Strategists to deliver insights and perspectives that go beyond the balance sheet.
- Client Coverage: Develop a nuanced understanding of client needs, maintaining a proactive approach to portfolio construction.
- New Business Development: In addition to inheriting an existing book, this person will be incentivized to prospect, network, and perform outbound tasks within new logos and existing accounts.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5-12 years of experience in institutional equity sales, with an established book of business.
- Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of equity markets, trading strategies, and the competitive landscape of investment management.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to concisely communicate complex financial concepts with poise.
- Multifaceted Sales Process: A strong client-centric mindset with a sales methodology designed to win new business and expand existing relationships.
- Education: A degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. CFA/CPA designation is a plus.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with research teams and operate in a collegial sales environment.
Salary : $150,000 - $250,000
