osition Summary
The Accountant (Audit) is a member of the Finance Team with responsibility to function as project lead for all organizational fiscal audits. The Accountant (Audit) will report to the Controller.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze financial statements and evaluate internal controls
Preparation of financial schedules, compilations, reconciliations, general ledger / trial balance analysis
Assist with the coordination of the day-to-day duties of planning, fieldwork and wrap-up of audit engagements
Deep understanding of accounting and reporting standards
Meet time constraints and deadlines related to audit engagements
Perform other general accounting and finance department functions as needed
Qualifications
BA / BS in Finance or Accounting is required
CPA preferred
Experience with A-133 and uniform guidance for government funding nonprofits with federal funding emphasis
Strong accounting background / knowledge ; 3-5 years of public accounting firm experience
Experience with Financial Edge is preferred but not mandatory
Excellent responsiveness and demonstrated teamwork skills
Strong organizational skills are required; multi-tasking abilities
Ability to work well independently but also work well with others
Approaches projects with a sense of urgency
Outstanding analytical, organizational and project management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
Ability to work independently, solve problems and be flexible
Flexibility, professional demeanor, ability to respond calmly and positively to rapidly changing situations
