Overview :
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the accounting department by maintaining general ledger accounts, managing accounts receivable operations, and assisting with various financial processes. This position is ideal for a motivated professional with a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and a strong foundation in accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities :
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Manage accounts receivable operations, including invoicing and collections.
Oversee cash control processes and bank reconciliations.
Track and monitor workers compensation and liability insurance expenses.
Assist with fundraising accounting, fixed assets tracking, and vehicle accident monitoring.
Prepare financial reports and support month-end close activities.
Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis.
Collaborate with the accounting team on ad-hoc projects and special assignments.
Must-Have Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Experience with general ledger.
Proficiency in accounts receivable processes.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to analyze financial data and solve problems independently.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications :
Experience with NetSuite ERP system.
Knowledge of workers compensation and liability insurance accounting.
Team Structure :
This role will work closely with a team of 3-4 accounting professionals including the Controller, Senior Accountant, and Payroll / AP Specialist.
