What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Infant Teacher position at Coddington Learning Center?
We are a small childcare facility that is able to provide big center opportunities in a home like environment. We are looking to add a full-time Infant Teacher to our team! The hours would be Monday through Friday 7:30 until 4:30. Our center participates in Rooted In Relationships to help promote the development of healthy social skills as well as Step Up to Quality.
Pay will be based on level of education and experience in Early Childhood Education
Must pass Background Checks as required by the State of NE
Must be able to lift infants onto changing table
Must be able to sit on the floor to interact with the infants
Responsibilities and Duties
- Follow the program schedule
- Create and carry out activity plans following the Center Curriculum
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social skills and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, do crafts, etc.)
- Communicate with parents regularly
- Collaborate with other educators and program coaches
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
- Maintain a safe environment for the children
- Attending 24 hours of annual training
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years of age
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
- A balance between a creative mind and a practical understanding.
Preferred:
- A minimum of 1500 clock hours in a group childcare setting (10 months working full time)
- Certification in child CPR/First aid or willingness to obtain
- CDA or Early Childhood Education courses
