What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coding/STEM Teacher for Kids position at Code Ninjas Gulf Breeze?
We are seeking passionate, high-energy, and dynamic individuals to join our team as a Coding/Video Game Design/STEM Instructor/Tutor. You will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students on a variety of STEM and coding topics. This is a part-time seasonal position that have the potential to become long-term. Experience with JavaScript, C#/Unity, Minecraft Modding, Video Game Design, 3D Printing, STEM education, and Roblox is preferred.
Code Ninjas is the world’s largest and fastest-growing kids’ coding franchise, with hundreds of locations. In our dojos, kids, ages 5-14, don’t just learn coding-they gain creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and STEM skills in a fun, safe, and inspiring environment. Learning to code can equip children with valuable skills such as problem-solving, logical thinking, and creativity, which we believe are essential for success now and later in life. Our programs are developed with creation in mind because it allows our students to express their imagination, experiment with new ideas, and have a sense of ownership and control over their creations—not to mention, creativity is the ultimate medium for self-expression, exploration, and discovery, which are essential to our students cognitive, social and emotion development.
Code Ninjas is opening a second location in Gulf Breeze. It is set to open in July/August. Training will begin this summer in the Pensacola location.
Responsibilities:
Training: in-person and online training provided.
Deliver engaging content to camp participants.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where campers feel encouraged to explore and innovate.
Lead group discussions, demonstrations, and interactive sessions to enhance campers’ understanding.
Supervise and ensure the safety of campers during all activities.
Collaborate with other instructors to coordinate daily schedules and events.
Provide feedback and support to campers as they work on projects.
Daily cleaning and organizing of the center and camp materials.
Report daily to Center Director and/or Camp Director daily.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or teaching in a camp, classroom, or informal educational setting.
Strong knowledge of STEM concepts and principles, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts.
Must be fun to work with and enjoy working in fast paced environments where requirements can change frequently.
Ability to maintain order and discipline within a group setting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate campers of varying ages, learning styles, personalities, and backgrounds.
CPR and First Aid knowledge or certification (preferred but not required).
Must pass a background check.
