What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Full Stack Engineer – MavAI Platform position at Code19 Racing?
Join the First Professional Autonomous Racing Franchise—Now Driving Defense Innovation
Are you ready to build the future of trusted autonomy? Code19 Racing, the world’s first professional autonomous racing team, is seeking a Lead Full Stack Developer to drive the productization and scaling of Maveric AI—
Born from battlefield experience and pressure-tested at 180 mph, MavAI ingests real-time data and providing live decision support in high stress environments. —what’s happening, why it matters, and what’s next. It’s built to shift operators from micromanaging autonomy to teaming with it. Now we’re bringing that same capability to contested edge environments—across drones, uncrewed ground vehicles, and naval platforms.
This is your chance to lead the team building the real-time infrastructure, backend systems, and voice interface powering MavAI at the edge.
If you're a full stack leader passionate about high-impact applications, conversational interfaces, and pushing tech from lab to field, this is your shot to define the future of human-machine teaming.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and scale cloud-to-edge infrastructure for agentic AI across defense and motorsports applications.
- Lead integration of live telemetry, video, sensor data, and autonomy stack outputs into the voice agent platform.
- Manage full stack development from backend architecture to frontend HMI
- Collaborate with AI, autonomy, and mission engineering teams to deliver real-time, explainable agentic behavior.
- Optimize performance for edge environments with limited compute and intermittent connectivity.
- Recruit and mentor a high-performing product engineering team for dual-use deployment.
- Participate in defense pilots, field testing, and high-speed race events—where MavAI gets battle-hardened.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in full stack development with emphasis on real-time systems and data-driven interfaces. Years of experience not a blocker.
- Deep proficiency with live data ingest and front-end frameworks
- Understanding of edge computing, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), and scalable APIs
- Proven ability to ship product, and scale mission-critical systems
- Comfort working in low-trust, high-speed, or mission-driven environments
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with autonomy stack integration, sensor fusion, or robotics systems
- Knowledge of LLM-powered agents, voice UX, or explainable AI interfaces
- Experience in defense tech, dual-use startups, or mission-critical deployments
- Bonus: Passion for racing, drones, or systems that move fast and matter
What We Offer
- Ground-floor equity in a venture-backed startup redefining AI at the edge
- Access to global deployments—across motorsport events, military pilots, and tech summits
- A once-in-a-lifetime chance to build the AI product everyone’s been talking about but no one’s built right
