Role Description
This is a contract role for an EdTech UX Researcher at CodeAlgo Academy located in Kansas City, KS. The UX Researcher will be responsible for conducting human-computer interaction research, utilizing design thinking principles, and employing analytical skills to improve user experience. The role will involve on-site work to gather insights and enhance the educational gaming platform.
Responsibilities :
- Research & User Experience Testing
Assemble group of K-12 students within the Kansas City Kansas School region.
Conduct on-site classroom observations to understand how students and teachers interact with the platform.Design and analyze surveys, focus groups, and user testing sessions to drive continuous improvements.Stay informed about emerging trends in K-12 education, coding instruction, and EdTech adoption to ensure CodeAlgo remains innovative.Bridge Product Development & School NeedsCollaborate with designers, developers, and curriculum specialists to ensure CodeAlgo’s platform is aligned with K-12 learning standards.
Advocate for user-centered design by translating school feedback into actionable insights for the product team.Identify gaps in product usability, pain points, usability challenges, accessibility, and effectiveness ensuring the platform is engaging and effective in real-world classrooms and after schools.School Engagement & ImplementationWork directly with teachers, school administrators, and district leaders to integrate CodeAlgo’s platform into their classrooms and after schools.
Conduct training sessions, workshops, and demos to help educators maximize the platform’s impact.Gather ongoing feedback from schools and provide data-driven insights to improve user adoption.Troubleshoot implementation challenges and recommend strategies to increase engagement.Strategy & ReportingDevelop reports and presentations for internal team, highlighting key findings from research and school visits.
Work closely with product team and developers to prioritize feature updates based on real-world feedback.Define key success metrics for school implementation and work toward optimizing engagement.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.Experienced in EdTech, UX Research, or School Implementation (3 years preferred).Passionate about education, instructional technology, and digital learning solutions .Strong communicator, able to translate research findings into clear, actionable insights for developers and educators alike.Knowledgeable about K-12 curriculum computer science standards, accessibility, and student engagement strategies .Comfortable with traveling to schools for research, training, and product testing.Ability to work on-site in Kansas City, KS.Experience in EdTech or educational platforms is a plus.Seniority level : Mid-Senior level
