This position could be a temp to hire opportunity. The Dentist, under the COO, administers the dental program in the clinic and directs departmental activities in accordance with accepted national standards and administrative policies. Diagnoses and treats diseases, injuries and malformations of teeth and gums, and related oral structures by performing essential duties in a safe and effective manner. Also supervises dental assistants assigned to his / her practice, and assures integration of patient education into all treatment phases. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES : Professional behavior is demonstrated always, both when on duty and as a representative of the hospital outside of normal work hours. A positive working relationship with patients, visitors, and facility staff is demonstrated. Respectful to managers and supervisors. Organizational ability and time management is demonstrated. Produces deliverable products on time, within budget with minimal direction. Reviews patient medical history at every visit. Examines diagnoses and treats oral disease including prescribing medication as needed. Performs oral treatments including root canals, extractions, and designs and fixes prosthetics, appliances, bridges, dentures, and space maintainers. Treat teeth malformations, gum injuries, and other oral abnormalities. Uses dental instruments safely. Operate x-ray and diagnostic equipment effectively Charts and reports to the patient all pathologic conditions Develops a written treatment plan and explains all options to the patient. Charts and signs all treatment provided. Refers patients to appropriate specialists when needed. Educate patients on preventive dental and oral health care. Applies sealants to teeth Follows standard dentistry procedures Stay up to date on dental techniques. Ensure that work area is maintained in a safe and clean manner.
