The successful candidate will thrive in a hybrid work environment, be able to work onsite in Lansing twice a week, and contribute to software development and data integrity tasks.
Responsibilities
PowerBuilder Development: Research and modify PowerBuilder source code (version 7 or higher) to document and improve application data processes.
T-SQL Query Writing: Write and optimize complex SQL queries for extracting and manipulating data from Sybase and MS SQL Server databases, supporting data migration and cleansing efforts.
Data Management: Perform data profiling, mapping, validation, and analysis to ensure data integrity and quality.
Source Control: Utilize version control tools like TFS, Azure DevOps, or Git to manage code and collaborate with team members on changes.
Unit Testing: Document and execute unit tests to support program changes and ensure system functionality.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications and process flow diagrams, to support software development.
Testing Support: Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to design and execute test scenarios, ensuring software meets requirements.
Production Support: Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot production issues, providing root cause analysis and documenting findings.
Change Management: Contribute to change management processes, following established procedures for software updates and fixes.
Qualifications
PowerBuilder Development (version 7 or higher): 5 years.
T-SQL Query Writing for Sybase and MS SQL Server: 10 years.
Data Management: 10 years of experience in data profiling, validation, mapping, and analysis.
Source Control: 5 years working with tools like TFS, Azure DevOps, or Git.
Unit Testing: 10 years of experience documenting and performing unit testing.
Documentation: 10 years creating and maintaining technical documentation.
Testing: 5 years of experience collaborating with business analysts to support test scenarios.
Production Support: 5 years of experience in identifying, analyzing, and resolving production issues.
Change Management: 5 years following change management processes.
Education: Some college coursework in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
