Role : Manufacturing Quality Engineer (PERM)
Location : Richardson, TX
Salary : $110k to $120k
We have a direct hire (perm) opportunity for a Manufacturing Quality Engineer with our client in Richardson, TX. This client is a leading energy technology company committed to powering a smarter world. In this exciting opportunity, you will serve as the technical manufacturing conduit between Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to the selected manufacturing sites (i.e. Contract Manufacturers) to drive scale-readiness in a growing family of solar energy storage products. The successful candidate will aid in the choice of materials, processes and Contract Manufactures for next generation power conversion and energy storage products with warrantees of up to 25 years. This Candidate will also lead efforts at qualified manufacturing locations for the delivery of high-quality products to customers. Bring passion for scaling distributed energy and commitment to robust products and aggressive quality and performance targets from the company’s Clean Energy Products.
Up to 30 / 40% travel may be required for this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Select and develop suppliers / partners for High-Reliability Power Electronics.
- Coordinate and conduct comprehensive Contract Manufacturer process audits at defined intervals.
- Develop and manage quality performance metrics while collaborating with a global network of contract manufacturers to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create Quality Requirements Specifications for high-reliability products produced by Contract Manufacturers.
- Provide critical input on material and process selections.
- Participate in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) activities for products manufactured by Contract Manufacturers.
- Manage Process Flow, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans for new and existing products.
- Lead and implement Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to ensure tools and processes support consistent high-quality standards at Contract Manufacturers.
- Oversee equipment installation and setup in collaboration with the Contract Manufacturing team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives at suppliers using a structured trend management approach.
- Develop project timelines and conduct cost analysis for improvements using Lean Six Sigma tools.
- Lead and manage all Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) activities at Contract Manufacturing locations.
- Participate in Corrective Action and Preventative Action processes related to manufacturing or material deficiencies.
- Utilize Engineering Change Control tools to ensure the effective implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) impacting products and production processes at Contract Manufacturers.
- Collaborate with engineering design, manufacturing engineering, and testing teams on materials and process evaluations.
