Overview :
The Manager of Network Services will lead a collaborative team responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the organization's network infrastructure, including Cisco-based LAN, WAN, and wireless technologies. This role ensures high network availability, security, and performance across multiple data centers, supporting critical, always-on applications. The Manager will oversee the operational budget related to network services and work closely with departmental leadership. This role will focus on team development, organizational design, and accountability.
This is a long term contract role hybrid on site in the Greater Milwaukee WI Area.
Job Responsibilities :
Lead and support a team of network engineers, providing guidance and professional development opportunities to foster growth, operational excellence, and high team performance. Establish clear roles and responsibilities for the network services team, ensuring accountability and collaboration.
Engage in team development activities, including skills assessment, coaching, and career growth planning, to build a high-performing team. Ensure team members understand and meet performance expectations through regular assessments and constructive feedback aligned with business goals.
Oversee the management, monitoring, and support of a large-scale, always-available network, consisting of Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, access points, and related security appliances, ensuring uptime for critical operations.
Implement redesigned network architecture using Cisco ACI and DNA technologies, working closely with the network architecture team. Ensure the security of network systems in compliance with applicable regulations.
Serve as a technical resource, providing network expertise to cross-functional teams, including security, data center, and application teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Support network performance optimization, capacity planning, and monitoring strategies for high-performance applications.
Collaborate with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and external vendors to introduce new technologies and ensure continuous service improvement. Support network integration with critical applications.
Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies to ensure minimal downtime and rapid recovery for critical network services in case of emergencies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including LAN / WAN designs, equipment lists, and operational runbooks. Manage vendor relationships, including contracts, licensing, SLAs, and critical support escalations.
Required Skills & Experience :
Five (5) or more years of experience managing large, complex network infrastructures in multi-site environments, with expertise in Cisco networking technologies, including three (3) or more years in a leadership or team management role.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and support a team of engineers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Familiarity with agile frameworks, including sprint planning and task estimation.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess technical solutions and present them in a way that aligns with business objectives.
Bachelors Degree
Preferred Skills & Experience :
Knowledge of applicable regulations and experience ensuring regulatory compliance in network operations.
Experience working with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid cloud environments.
Experience managing vendor relationships, including contracts, licensing, and SLAs.
Familiarity with agile project management methodologies, including sprint planning, epics, and task estimation.

Codeworks, LLC discloses that the anticipated hourly pay range for this position is between $95 and $105. This range is subject to change based on job-related factors, including client requirements where applicable.
