Top Skills & Years of Experience Required :

  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in IT project management, including industry standard and best practices (7 years)
  • Experience establishing and maintaining project budgets, schedules, change requests, risk and issue logs (7 years)
  • Experience using project portfolio management systems and tools (e.g., Clarity) (5 years)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely convey information.

Basic Duties :

  • Utilize the Project Portfolio Management Tool (Clarity) to prepare project schedules, assign resources, and manage budgets.
  • Prepare information for presentations to various audiences, ranging from executives to project team members.
  • Monitor, control, and communicate project progress by actively managing cost, schedule, scope, resources, quality, and risks.
  • Provide clear, timely, and accurate communication with stakeholders, including project sponsors, team members, program managers, and management, on the project’s status, using appropriate communication methods.
  • Provide leadership and foster collaborative participation between technical and business teams, facilitating consensus and commitment.
  • Work with project team members to develop and maintain the following key SUITE Project Management Methodology (PMM) deliverables throughout the project lifecycle :
  • o Project Charter

    o Project Schedule

    o Project Budget

    o Communication Plan

    o Project Status Report

    o Risk and Issue Management Plans

    o Change Requests

    o Project Closedown Summary

  • Manage communications related to project interfaces with other agencies.
  • Ensure the project adheres to SUITE PMM and System Engineering Methodology (SEM), including timely transitions through the project lifecycle stages and phases.
  • Facilitate and enforce the Change Management process as agreed with the agency (Change Requests) when the project deviates from the approved scope, schedule, or budget. This includes ensuring all Change Requests are properly approved before any actions are taken or information is updated.
  • Create Corrective Action Plans (CAP) when necessary for projects in yellow or red status.
  • Understand the project benefits and the impact of change requests on the benefits business cases, ensuring that related project artifacts are updated accordingly.
  • Review and understand vendor contracts to actively manage vendor deliverables and ensure adherence to vendor deliverable approval procedures.
  • Facilitate stakeholder interactions by clarifying expectations and ensuring deliverables are assigned, reviewed, and completed.
  • Qualifications Required / Desired Experience

    In-depth knowledge of and experience in IT project

    management, including industry standard and best

    Proven record for delivering projects on time and on

    budget in a formal project manager role Required 7 years

    Experience establishing and maintaining project budgets,

    schedules, change requests, risk and issue logs Required 7 years

    Experience developing and delivering project status Required 7 years

    Experience using a project portfolio management systems

    and tools (e.g.) Clarity Required 5 years

    Advanced working knowledge of MSProject Required 5 years

    Experience handling variety of stakeholders and system

    owners from other departments. Highly Desired 5 years

    Experience managing multi-vendor environment in a

    government environment. Highly Desired 5 years

    Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP)

    Certification. Highly Desired 3 years
