Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing and be committed to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As an ICU nurse, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing patients with severe and life-threatening conditions, ensuring their safety and comfort while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the ICU setting.
- Monitor vital signs and administer medications as prescribed.
- Provide advanced nursing care for patients requiring critical interventions.
- Perform IV infusions and administer injections as needed.
- Assist with ostomy care and catheterization procedures.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions for patients leaving the ICU.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Document patient information accurately using eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems.
- Engage in critical care transport for patients requiring transfer to other facilities.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of inpatient nursing practices and emergency medicine protocols.
- Proficiency in critical care techniques and procedures, including IV infusion and administering injections.
- Experience with ostomy care and catheterization is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while providing patient-centered care.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $58.83 - $65.02 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
