Project Engineer - Summer Intern

TITLE: Project Engineer Summer Intern (non-exempt / non-union / full-time / temporary / in-person)

Reports to: Project Manager/Superintendent

Position Summary: CVGs internship provides real world experience. Dive into the action with hands on experience providing opportunities to develop skills in project management, problem solving, and client relationship management. This is the perfect opportunity to link what youre learning in the classroom!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):

• Support Project Manager and office/field project team with project administration.
• Maintain organized project binders and digital files.
• Coordinate job walks and assist with bid packages.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Project Superintendent to create, track and update construction schedules.
• Participation in and documentation of weekly OAC meetings.
• Maintain soft and hard copies of drawing sets and as-builts.
• Develop, track, and manage RFIs and submittals.
• Review subcontractor shop drawings and submittals for adherence to plans and specifications.
• MEP coordination.
• Understand and distribute contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders and change orders.
• Prepare project start-up for Superintendent and closeout packages for Owner/Client.
• Build knowledge of various platforms, including MS Project/Office, Bluebeam, and Procore/Autodesk.
• Available for an in-person internship for a minimum length of 8 weeks.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled as a Construction Management or Civil Engineer student at a local University (relocation stipend or temporary housing does not apply).
• Dedicated to task completion and problem-solving in an organized manner.
• Some knowledge of construction vocabulary, principles and procedures.
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and active listening).
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent follow-through skills.
• Ability to build and foster positive team relationships.
• Maintains a professional environment, demonstrates ethical behavior, and uses good judgement.
• Be adaptable, flexible, and resilient while managing multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid Driver's License, valid auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

This position has an hourly rate of $20 - $25/hour. The actual salary offer will be carefully considered based on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience. The range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
