The Assistant Construction Project Manager primarily supports the Superintendent and Foremen by assisting in all aspects of a construction project, including planning, scheduling, coordinating with industry partners, managing site operations, ensuring quality control, and maintaining communication with internal team, clients and industry partners, ultimately contributing to the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Analyze and understand project scope and objectives.
- Assist in developing project schedules.
- Prepare project documentation.
- Monitor project progress against the schedule and identify potential issues.
Budget Management:
- Assist in managing the project budget by identifying potential cost overruns.
Industry Partner Management:
- Coordinate with industry partners, ensuring they understand project specifications and deadlines.
- Manage industry partner relationships and resolve any issues that arise.
Site Supervision:
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality control and safety compliance.
- Communicate project updates to the field team and address any concerns.
- Ensure adherence to project plans and specifications on site.
Client Communication:
- Attend client meetings, provide project updates, and address client concerns.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain project documentation.
- Manage project data and reporting systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in the construction industry preferred
- Strong understanding of construction principles, project management methodologies, and relevant building codes
- Ability to read blueprints
- Proficiency in construction software (scheduling, document management)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Excellent multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
