SUMMARY:
The Assistant Irrigation Specialist, under the supervision of the Irrigation Specialist, is responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of the golf course and casino irrigation and drainage systems. The irrigation specialist is required to report any irregularities in the golf course and casino’s irrigation system to the Irrigation Specialist.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hand waters dry areas with a hose to eliminate dry areas.
- Responsible for monitoring moisture levels of the turf areas and the casino landscape areas to ensure the grass and plant materials receive the proper amount of water.
- Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and heads as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining the drainage system by making sure inlets and outlets are free from obstructions.
- Cleans irrigation nozzles/emitters and screens on a regular basis to ensure efficient water distribution.
- Completes requests for irrigation parts and supplies.
- Performs other golf course and casino landscape duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
- May be needed to operate different kinds of machinery to complete various tasks.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- At least six months previous experience in a related field. One year preferred.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Must have a basic knowledge of landscape plants and their irrigation needs.
- Ability to multi-task is required.
- Good written and verbal communication skills required.
- Good work and attendance habits.
