SUMMARY:
The Bus Driver will operate their assigned vehicle to provide passenger shuttle services for the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Casino and fixed route services for the FTA funded public transportation system, City Link.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide safe, comfortable, reliable, and courteous transportation service to the public utilizing Defensive Driving Techniques.
- Ensure compliance with designated route scheduling.
- Comply with all departmental, local, tribal, state, and federal rules, regulations, and traffic laws.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections including interior cleaning and inspections on buses to ensure safe mechanical operation.
- Immediately notify manager of all accidents and incidents that occur and complete all necessary reports and paperwork.
- Assist passenger loading and unloading.
- Maintain knowledge of events/activities, operation information, and route information in order to provide information to transportation customers.
- Attend all casino and departmental functions and meetings as required.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Must have a minimum of a C-class CDL with passenger endorsement.
- Must have a driving record that is free of any moving violations and accidents for at least the last three years.
- Must have a current DOT physical examination.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Six months previous experience as a transit or school bus driver required.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Must have a thorough understanding of transportation vehicle components.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Strong problem solving skills required.
- Must be able to follow detailed instructions precisely.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
