SUMMARY:
The Bus Mechanic will maintain all Coeur d'Alene Casino and Citylink Transit vehicles to ensure optimal operating condition while adhering to FTA and Casino regulations for proper service and maintenance of the vehicles.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Conduct fuel and electrical diagnostics with limited supervision.
- Perform limited major engine and transmission maintenance and repairs.
- At the end of each shift accurately complete a written record of work performed.
- Provide roadside assistance as required
- Change oil and filters, install anti-freeze, rotate and replace tires, inspect and repair brakes, lubricate chassis, wheel bearings and other assemblies required.
- Perform all required preventative maintenance and regular FTA bus safety inspections.
- Maintain heating and air conditioning systems.
- Perform road check on vehicles to certify the accuracy of repairs.
- Coordinate with manager to determine priority levels and to ensure that an adequate number of operational vehicles are available for Casino and Citylink use.
- Maintain adequate inventory of supplies needed to complete vehicle services.
- Submit part orders on a timely basis and recommend buses that need to be sent out for repairs.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Must have commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Four years of professional training in diesel mechanics or related work experience required.
- ASE certification preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Must have own tools.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Basic problem solving skills required.
- Ability to follow directions required.
- Must have strong diagnostic skills.
