Description
SUMMARY:
Installs, modifies, and makes repairs to the hardware and software of all managed IT systems including telephone, network switches, routers, appliances, servers, and workstations. The IT Systems Technician will provide technical assistance and training to system users as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and make decisions to solve systems and network problems regarding high priority issues such as when users are unable to use computer systems.
- Diagnose and repair IT systems hardware and software failures.
- Provide technical assistance and training to system users.
- Configure and monitor data backups, ensuring that all data is being backed up.
- Set-up, maintain, and monitor IT systems devices including telephone equipment, network switches, routers, appliances, servers, and workstations.
- Keep IT Director apprised of projects being worked on and their status, unusual systems events, security breaches, dissatisfied systems users, and all other non-routine activities that warrant the attention of management.
- Answer help desk calls and escalate if necessary.
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Must be able to obtain a Coeur d'Alene tribal gaming license.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous direct and phone customer service experience preferred
- Previous hotel, casino, and restaurant business computer systems experience preferred.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Knowledge of hardware maintenance, cabling, switches, routers, and firewalls preferred.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Ability to manage conflict and influence outcomes preferred.
- Must be able to multitask.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Must be able to maintain and present a professional and courteous demeanor towards vendors, co-workers, systems users, and guests at all times.
- Excellent organization skills required.
- Strong problem solving skills required.
