Retail Sales Associate

Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented Retail Sales Associate to join our team at CDA Pipe and Cigar, a premier cigar store. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cigars and exceptional customer service skills. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing guidance to customers, assisting with purchases, maintaining inventory, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere within the store. Responsibilities:

• Greet customers as they enter the store and provide them with assistance and information about our products.
• Offer recommendations and suggestions based on customers' preferences and needs.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of our cigar inventory, including brands, flavors, and pricing.
• Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment in a secure and professional manner.
• Restock shelves and displays with merchandise to ensure availability for customers.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
• Answer phone inquiries and respond to email communications promptly and professionally.
• Uphold store policies and procedures regarding age verification for tobacco sales.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and promotions to effectively communicate information to customers.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and provide exceptional customer service.
• Assist with special events and promotions held within the store, such as cigar tastings or VIP evenings.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in hospitality or retail is a plus.
• Prior experience in retail sales, preferably in a similar environment such as a tobacco or cigar store.
• Deep knowledge and passion for cigars, including different varieties, brands, and smoking accessories.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with diverse customers.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions and inventory.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive information and transactions.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy boxes or merchandise when necessary.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
