About the Job :
In this position candidate will be a part of the Exploration Team and will work with drilling contractor management and HSE Team to ensure all drilling activities are planned, executed and communicated across departments with a focus on cost-management, efficiency, safety, and high data quality to support the goals of Coeur Mining.
Responsibilities :
- Manage RFP process, track bids from year-to-year, manage contracts
- Maintain relationships with drilling companies, conduct weekly meetings
- Host program kick-off meeting to ensure alignment with exploration expectations
- Pad construction and related logistics
- Manage materials and consumables
- Safety and environmental leader, trainer, and champion
- Drill cost tracking and management to ensure we are utilizing our funds in the most effective way possible
- Ensure the correct management of the drilling operations by optimizing the assets and equipment and supervising the execution of the activities of drilling contractors.
- Maintain and monitor high-quality core and RC sample recovery
- Liaise with operations to build good working relationships and to ensure drill sequencing works with operation plans
- Understand drill mechanics and develop best practices with the geologists for drilling the site-specific units
- Non-drill time responsibilities : update contract with improvements based on previous campaign lessons learned; prep for next campaign, completing all environmental and associated pad logistics; assist with core shed improvements, sample storage, and any other items as requested.
