About the Job :
Reporting to the Safety Manager, the Health and Safety Trainer will be responsible for delivering safety and health training to employees and contractors, ensuring compliance with the Company’s safety programs and protocols. This role also involves promoting a strong safety culture, conducting hazard inspections, providing first response to incidents, and supporting various safety initiatives, including the Industrial Hygiene program and mine rescue team training.
Responsibilities :
- Promote the efforts of Company’s safety and health program in all work activities
- Provide training to employees and contractors according to Company’s approved training plan
- Plan and train employees in first aid, annual refresher, and other safety & health matters
- Champion and enforce a strong safety, environmental and healthy work culture
- Inspect Company’s workplaces for hazards and loss control issues, conduct incident investigations
- Assist with loss control investigations, analysis and record keeping.
- Assist in training mine rescue team members
- Support and participate in the Company’s Industrial Hygiene program
- Perform workplace monitoring
- Provide first response to accidents and injuries
- Maintain training and departmental records
- Provide statistical safety analysis
- Assist other departments as needed
