About the Job :
The IT Network Technician will be working in conjunction with the IT Network Administrator and will be responsible for Coeur Rochester Mine Site and its off-site locations needs as related to internet connectivity, wired and wireless networks, phone systems, satellite services, radio services, and general hardware and software needs.
Responsibilities :
The IT Network Technician is responsible for the performance of the following duties in a safe and productive manner.
- Responsible for assisting in establishing appropriate systems / methods for the computer network through project planning, systems analysis, program development, and implementation, to achieve effective business solutions to meet the Company’s objectives and priorities.
- Help develop general and detailed system design specifications and quality documentation; maintains accurate documentation on network hardware and software, including technical documentation on configuration and installation procedures and standards; assists with support of remote communications access needs.
- Occasionally manage technical projects with minimal assistance
- Proposes policies and solutions for network-related issues.
- Identifies alternate system approaches to ensure all networks operate in an efficient and effective manner.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance of IT infrastructure
- Attend tickets related to network, internet, hardware and other areas of responsibility
- Ensures adherence to company policy while maintaining specific knowledge of IT policies and procedures.
- Assists corporate IT personnel in developing project plans and in scheduling, monitoring, and communicating project status.
- Assists with reviews of network for cost effectiveness, compliance to standards, flexibility, and efficiency to meet future needs.
- Helps evaluate network back up and security, and assists in maintaining security parameters, including virus control.
- Maintains network performance via network monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, escalation, and resolution methods.
- Monitors network for improper or unauthorized access and prepares reports as required.
- Assists other members of the IT department in their duties as prescribed by management and maintains flexible on-call weekend rotation status.
- Maintains current understanding of new and upcoming business-related technology and continually improves personal and professional SA / Networking knowledge through technical articles, professional forums, and online courses when appropriate.
Physical Requirements :
This position will be a 40-hour work schedule and is primarily based at the Coeur Rochester Mine Site but is not limited to the mine site. Network responsibilities include several ancillary locations as well.
