About the Job :
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance General Supervisor, the Mobile Maintenance Trainer is responsible for coordinating and leading the mobile maintenance technical training and development program. Keeping records while maintaining an overall career path forward for each technician’s personal growth. The primary objective of this role is to work with the Mobile Maintenance department leaders and training personnel, driving a high safety culture and ensure competency-based training and assessment are delivered to the highest standard.
Responsibilities :
- Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace while enforcing safety, environmental, and company procedures and guidelines.
- Design equipment maintenance training plans and curriculums based on education standards from vocational and teaching strategies.
- Develop session plans, facilitation guides, presentations, student workbooks and training materials in a Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excell format.
- Contribute to continuous reviews and improvement activities to improve product, services and processes pertaining to trade training across the Rochester Mobile maintenance site.
- Deliver trade training as per the training schedule and manage tradesman development tasks effectively to meet all training requirements.
- Teach at a higher level using textbook material, visual aids such as simulation techniques, Diagnostic equipment and equipment components.
- Conduct continuous mechanical assessments for an upwards mechanical progression, using ladder progression techniques.
- Keeping accurate employee training records.
- Must be willing and able to conduct training sessions on the job at the equipment sites when needed.
- Must be willing and able to perform real testing and teaching on large mining equipment.
- Must take a hands-on approach to teaching in the field as a tradesman development tactic.
- Teach the use of OEM diagnostic software, hydraulic pressure gauges, micrometers, multimeters and tooling that pertains to the trade.
- Ensure employee development by recognizing employee strengths and weakness, be highly involved in identifying technical training needs based on employee needs for an upwards progression.
- Be able to set annual training plans both internally and the use of OEM training.
- Review and update mobile maintenance department SOP’s.
- Work closely with the Reliability team to ensure proper training material is being developed in a timely manner and maintenance best practices are being taught.
