Manufacturing/Machine Tool Occupational Licensed Teacher
Responsible to: Principal
Director of Career and Technical Education
Qualifications:
- Valid TN Teacher's License with appropriate endorsements or a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, completed within the last ten (10) years, or three (3) years of relevant work experience, completed within the last five (5) years and enrollment into a Teacher Prep Program.
- Highly Qualified status, as applicable, in areas of assigned instruction
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Competent technological skills
Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepares lesson plans and teaching strategies for course(s) of study taught
- Aligns both course(s) curriculum taught and/or assessments with state and local curriculum standards
- Career and Technical Student Organization participation
- Uses a variety of teaching strategies to facilitate student learning
- Plans a program of study that addresses the individual needs and abilities of the students
- Develops and maintains a school/classroom environment conducive to learning and socially appropriate for the age of students taught
- Analyzes and uses appropriate data to guide instruction and develop assessments
- Establishes and communicates clear expectations for all lessons, class work, and projects.
- Assigns lessons routinely and corrects student work in a timely fashion
- Maintains good order in classroom and other areas of the school
- Supervises students at school related functions including on and off campus activities
- Consults with other professionals to address learning or behavioral problems with specific students
- Communicates with parents/guardian regularly through verbal and written form
- Assesses the progress of students on a regular basis, both formative and summative, and provides progress reports as required
- Schedules parent conferences as directed by the system and as needed in particular cases; if necessary, these conferences may be outside the school day as dictated by student/parent/guardian needs
- Keeps accurate attendance and academic performance records for assigned students
- Reports to the appropriate administrative and/or consultative personnel when knowledgeable or suspicious that a child's health or welfare has been or appears to be at risk
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Participates in school level faculty meetings, system professional development and in-service meetings, staff committee meetings, and other workshops for teacher training
- Plans, supervises, and provides guidance for teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s)
- Maintains accurate financial records
- Provides detailed plans for substitute teachers including lessons, schedules and rules regarding classroom organization, procedures and individual student needs

- Conducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the highest standards of public education and in support of the District's Vision/Mission Statements
- Maintains ethical standards, which include professionalism and the protection of confidential student and staff information
- Other responsibilities and/or duties may be required and assigned
