Summary: This position is responsible for leading all team members in the efficient and profitable operations of the Coffeehouse. The Coffeehouse Manager will manage day-to-day Coffeehouse operations while maintaining high standards, fostering a positive environment, and providing fast, efficient, and friendly service.
Requirements:Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage all Coffeehouse leads and crew members
- Ensure proper team member coverage and schedule according to the needs of the business while maintaining target labor costs
- Interact with customers frequently to build relationships, promote coffeehouse products, and set example for staff on exceptional customer service
- Identify staffing, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training needs of qualified candidates
- Facilitate on-going training and development of current staff
- Maintain staff job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees as needed
- Ensure that all team members are educated on Coffeehouse products and merchandise
- Perform all POS duties including opening and closing procedures including providing necessary reports
- Maintain inventory, order supplies and equipment, communicate with and hold vendors accountable
- Keep GM and upper managements informed on inventory needs, employee needs, and customer needs
- Monitor individual store profitability by balancing sales goals with overall expense management
- Responsible for oversight and management of operations consistent to the overall experience, health, and safety standards
- Promotes and practices safe work habits, identifying and resolving potential safety hazards, operational inconsistencies and any team member or customer incidents
- Maintain required food handling certification
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Perform all duties of barista or shift lead as needed including taking customer orders, food and drink preparation, and stocking/cleaning duties
Qualifications:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include morning, evenings, and weekends
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2-3 years food service experience required
- Minimum of one year of management required
- Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certified or ability to obtain certification upon hire and maintain for duration of employment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficient on a computer, familiar with Microsoft Office programs
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
- Effective problem solving/decision making abilities
- Ability to stay calm and level-headed during stressful, busy times
- Ability to motivate staff and keep them focused and on task
- Ability to follow all safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Environmental and Physical Activity Requirements:
This job operates in a fast-paced food and beverage service setting that involves standing and walking for extended periods of time. This role routinely uses food and beverage service equipment such as coffee brewers, blenders, and food prep utensils. The daily responsibilities of this position constantly require effective talking, hearing, walking, finger dexterity, reaching, stooping, and grasping functions. The position also often requires reaching, lifting (up to 25 pounds). Must be able to read print and computer-based materials and to do so with consistent accuracy.
