S / he assists in preparing patients for surgery to help provide exceptional patient experience.JOB DUTIES :
- Prepare sterile operating rooms for surgeries, including sterilize equipment and instruments
- Stock adequate supplies for surgery and track surgical supplies
- Provide support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies
- Stay current on surgical technology, medical terminology and procedures
- Work well with surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses and surgical team to provide exceptional patient experienceThe Surgical Technologist assumes other responsibilities as assigned by surgeons and the Surgical Nursing Director.JOB REQUIREMENTS :
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills, required
- Strong attention to detail, vigilance and meticulous care on the job, required
- Passion for keeping people safe, required
- Strong understanding of surgical technology, medical terminology and surgical procedure, requiredEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program, preferred.
