Coffeyville School District, No. 445, is currently accepting applications for the high school Head Softball coaching position. The coaching position would be in charge of the softball program for Field Kindley High School and would report to the Athletic / Activities Director and the building Principal. Essential Functions :

Softball coaching experience is required.
Travel and Shuttling of students to and from meets
Provides guidance and direction to participants and any assistant coaches.
Coordinates the communication with Athletic Director and media outlets with upcoming activities and results of competitions.
Oversees the care, storage, collection and managing of uniforms and equipment for the team.
The head coaching position will be in charge of any assistant coaches that might be hired with the head coach's input.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation by the entire staff of the sports program.

Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations; implements same consistently and interprets them for staff.

Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all public / staff / departmental meetings that require attendance.

Follows established procedures set by the school board and KSHSAA.

Coordinate and help supervise the program and team under the head coach's supervision.

Promote an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Support and promote the training program by the head coach.

Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.

Work effectively with booster clubs and other community organizations.

React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.

Support the philosophy and vision of U.S.D. 445.

Qualifications :

Experience as a softball participant required.

Experience coaching softball is preferred

Must pass a background check, TB Skin Test and basic physical

Valid driver's license to transport students to and from events

Work Environment / Mental / Physical Demands

Be able to lift repeatedly 25 lbs. with ability to lift 50 lbs. at different times. Ability to carry, load and unload items as needed.

Work environment consists of the activity location, including outside practice and game fields. Some work done inside in coaching offices and training rooms / locker rooms. Outside locations will vary in conditions including temperature and humidity.

Travel to other communities / cities for game day competitions.

Constant student / staff and parent interactions when emotions are high and stressful such as at practices and game days.

FLSA Status : Exempt / Non-Exempt
