About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant with a strong background in lending, SaaS revenue accounting, and fund operations. This role is essential to our organization’s financial infrastructure and will work cross-functionally to support both the day-to-day and strategic aspects of our financial operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment and brings hands-on experience with loan accounting, SaaS revenue recognition, capital provider reporting, and fund-level accounting.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes across lending, SaaS, and fund operations.
- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Maintain integrity of the general ledger across all revenue and asset classes.
Loan Accounting
- Manage accounting for loan origination, funding, amortization, interest accruals, fees, impairments, and charge-offs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards including GAAP, ASC 310, ASC 326, and regulatory frameworks.
SaaS Revenue Recognition
- Oversee accounting for SaaS-related revenue streams, including recurring subscriptions, implementation fees, and usage-based models.
- Apply ASC 606 principles and maintain accurate deferred revenue schedules.
- Collaborate with SalesOps and Customer Success to ensure contract data aligns with accounting requirements.
Finance Operations
- Support the Controller and Finance team with operational initiatives such as accounts payable, collections, cash flow management, and system improvements.
- Help streamline financial processes and controls to scale with business growth.
Capital Provider & Fund Reporting
- Prepare and manage recurring and ad hoc reporting for capital providers, including debt compliance reporting, investor updates, and drawdown notices.
- Maintain fund-level financial statements, capital account balances, and waterfall models.
- Coordinate with external fund administrators, auditors, and legal teams to ensure accurate and timely fund reporting.
Compliance & Audit
- Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure compliance with industry regulations including FDIC, SEC, and fund-specific requirements.
- Support external audits and due diligence requests with detailed documentation and insights.
Cross-Functional Support
- Provide accounting input on new product launches, pricing models, and financial structuring.
- Partner with FP&A, operations, and executive leadership to deliver business insights and forecasting support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA strongly preferred).
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with direct experience in:
- Banking/lending and loan level accounting
- SaaS revenue accounting
- Fund accounting and capital provider reporting
- Strong understanding of accounting standards such as GAAP, ASC 310/326/606.
- Experience with ERP systems, fund reporting platforms, and revenue tools.
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with BI/reporting tools is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communicator with strong collaboration skills across departments.
