Description:
Prefer candidates with more focus and exp. on MSFT SQL Server rather than Oracle background.
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
5 to 7 years of Database Administration experience. with any of the database management systems (Microsoft SQL Server, DB2 LUW, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.).
5 to 7 years of experience working with large database/large scale projects.
3 to 5 years of experience with cloud-based database technologies (Azure SQL, Azure SQL MI, Azure SQL for PostgreSQL).
Knowledge of cloud computing concepts, virtualization, and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platforms.
Proficiency in SQL Server and Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.
Is a self-starter with the ability to work with little management supervision.
Has the ability to multi-task, be flexible and deal with interruptions and change.
Can coordinate the triage, identification, and resolution of complex production and non-production issues
Proficient in SQL language, database principles, and data modeling
Must be willing to work varying shifts (Day, Night, Split, or weekends)
Additional Skills or Prior Job Experience
1 to 3 years of experience with NoSQL database systems (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, Neo4j, Neptune, etc.).
Familiarity with Microsoft DevOps and PowerShell scripting.
Expertise in utilizing IaaS and PaaS services, including database services and Kubernetes.
Understanding of IP subnetting, Network Security Groups, routing, Azure Firewall, load balancing, DNS, and other networking concepts and protocols.
Experience with Azure SQL, PostgreSQL and other Azure data services
Knowledge of PowerShell or other scripting languages
Basic understanding of containers and virtualization technologies (Kubernetes, VMWare)
