What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fireplace Installer position at Cogent Analytics?
The primary responsibility of this position is to install hearth products safely and efficiently as per manufacturer specifications, national/local codes, and at the same time staying focused on providing a positive customer experience. The installer must determine the customer’s expectations with the goal of producing a project that is both safe and aesthetically pleasing. Must be willing to continually learn and have a strong work ethic and be trustworthy. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of the hearth industry. Relies on estimates written, experience, judgment, positive communication, and owner’s guidance to plan and accomplish goals. Detailed notes and documentation for each project is required.
\n- Review site inspection notes and photos to accurately plan installation materials beyond Kit.
- Review manufacturer’s installation manual of product being installed.
- When at Customer’s home, greet customer in friendly manor, review the installation with customer, ask for any special concerns the customer may have, notate.
- Install product as per specifications and pre-plan. Begin with the end in mind, and look at details of how the product will be finished.
- All gas lines, fireplace electricity, venting, clearances, framing, etc. must be done to AAM production standards.
- Consistent written and verbal communication with customer/contractor, owner, salesperson, and/or manufacturer throughout the installation.
- Completion of work within standard guidelines as determined by schedule.
- Accurately, track and report materials used beyond standard kit in each job.
- For finished/homeowner jobs: review result of job with customer; explain operation of product installed, gain client authorization of completeness and satisfaction. Document with pictures and detailed notes.
- For construction/contractor single-stage and multi-stage work. Detailed notes for the next step of installation documented and reviewed. Submit documentation & download pictures into customer file.
- Ability to discuss job improvements in a post-project review meeting.

- Sign in/out appropriate specialty tools without fail.
- 3-5 years of safe and professional installation experience to anticipate construction challenges when installing in new builds and existing homes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and people skills.
- Ability to accurately plan a job from estimate to install and execute.
- Ability to continuously train on the technical aspects of the health industry.
- Ability to plan and action resources to lift to 600 lbs. safely.
- The ability to climb ladders up to 50 feet and move around comfortably on roofs of different designs.
