Job Title : Senior Solution Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Solution Engineer to join the Stores Engineering team . As a member of the team, you will work on the development, deployment, and support of Kronos Workforce Management (WFM) solutions. This position is highly visible and integral to the success of the business, with a focus on supporting IT operations, handling code deployments, and troubleshooting issues in a mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Kronos WFM Support: Provide operational support, manage code deployments, and troubleshoot rollout issues to ensure seamless service delivery for business stakeholders across North America.
- Collaboration with Scrum Teams: Work closely with BOS (Back of Stores) scrum teams to develop, deploy, and maintain Kronos WFM solutions.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) Support: Act as an SME to assist Helpdesk and Level 2 teams with technical guidance and troubleshooting.
- Off-Hours Support: Be available to support off-hour shifts for solution deployments (approximately once per week).
- Problem Resolution: Use tools like Splunk for diagnostics and monitoring, addressing issues that arise during outages, and restoring critical systems.
- Technical Support: Provide expert technical assistance to business teams to ensure systems are functional and meet operational requirements.
- Software Code Updates: Alter code strings (primarily Java) to update systems as needed.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with third-party support vendors, escalate incidents as needed, and contribute to cross-team initiatives.
- System Upgrades: Oversee and manage the upgrade process for the Kronos WFM system and related technologies.
- Documentation: Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and document new issues, troubleshooting steps, and solutions for the support teams.
- Customer Service: Ensure a consistent and positive customer experience for internal and external users.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor s Degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Kronos WFM: Minimum of 3 years of experience implementing and supporting Kronos WFM products. Oracle Exadata Cloud: Minimum of 3 years of experience implementing Oracle Exadata Cloud Service (required). Java Development: At least 2 years of experience in enterprise software development, including Java. Web Server Management: 3 years of experience with Jboss/Oracle WebLogic servers (required). Oracle Database: Solid understanding of Oracle Database versions 12c, 19c, or 21c. Kronos WFM Upgrades: Hands-on experience planning, testing, and executing Kronos WFM upgrades and patches.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Java software design and development. Experience using Splunk for monitoring and troubleshooting. Familiarity with Oracle Cloud technologies, VMware, Linux VMs, Hyper-V, and Windows 10.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical, reasoning, and attention to detail skills.
- Time Management: Self-motivated with strong time-management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Splunk: Experience with Splunk for diagnostics and monitoring.
- ITIL: Familiarity with ITIL best practices for IT service management.
- Cross-team Collaboration: Experience working in an Agile environment and collaborating with multiple teams.
