Job Details
Cogent is seeking a skilled Penetration Tester to join our cybersecurity team and help ensure our organization complies with NIST 800-171 standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ethical hacking, vulnerability assessment, and a deep understanding of the NIST 800-171 framework.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough penetration tests across our systems, networks, and applications to identify vulnerabilities related to NIST 800-171 compliance
Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of our current security controls as outlined in NIST 800-171
Develop and execute test plans to validate the 110 security controls across the 14 control families of NIST 800-171
Provide detailed reports on findings, including actionable recommendations for remediation
Collaborate with IT and security teams to implement and improve security measures
Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, techniques, and NIST 800-171 revisions
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment
In-depth knowledge of NIST 800-171 framework and its implementation
Proficiency in various penetration testing tools and methodologies
Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common vulnerabilities
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Relevant certifications such as CEH, OSCP, or GPEN are preferred
