Location : Water Division - St. Louis, MO
Incumbents in this position assign and supervise professional and sub-professional engineering staff. Duties include overseeing budget preparation, construction project procedures and contract payments; reviewing plans and specifications and providing technical advice.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Working through subordinate engineering and sub-professional engineering staff, this person is responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of the Water Distribution System in the City of St. Louis.
- Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates the preparation of designs, specifications, structural plans, flow analysis, and cost estimates for public water works and related water distribution projects.
- Plans and supervises the design, installation, and maintenance of the City's highly complex Water Distribution System, including direct supervision of complex emergency situations.
- Resolves numerous unusual or difficult engineering problems under field conditions.
- Coordinates construction projects with other City agencies and private contractors resolving numerous complications in the field.
- cts as principal assistant to the head of Distribution, fulfilling line functions in the absence of the Water Distribution Executive, Water Distribution Superintendent, Assistants in their absence and other line supervisors.
- Supervises the installation and maintenance of all wafer mains, valves, hydrants, etc. in the right-of way management system.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or closely related field from a nationally accredited college or university; plus five years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience.
Registration : Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.
License : Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present license upon request.
