What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook/Prep Cook/Chef/kitchen staff/line cook position at Cogent Infotech Corporation?
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook a diverse selection of hot and cold menu items in accordance with established recipes and dietary guidelines. Ensuring that food is prepared timely to meet the meal service schedule is essential.
Portion Control and Presentation: Accurately portion and plate meals to ensure consistency and adherence to nutritional standards. The presentation should align with the aesthetic expectations of our dining services, enhancing the overall dining experience for residents.
Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment by following all food safety and sanitation protocols. This includes proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices to comply with health regulations.
Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with the culinary team and other staff members to effectively execute the meal plan. Strong verbal communication skills in English are essential for fulfilling instructions and addressing any resident needs or requests.
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role, preferably in a senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting.
Must be English speaking and literate to effectively communicate with team members and residents.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods, with a strong understanding of nutrition principles.
Familiarity with food safety practices and sanitation regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
