About this Role :
The Director of Global VM and Retail Design will ensure that all Youth To The People brand standards are consistently expressed across all retail formats in global markets. This role requires a flexible schedule, primarily Monday through Thursday, and involves close collaboration with internal and external teams to oversee the design and development of various aspects of VM and retail design.
Job Description :
- Serve as the gatekeeper to ensure brand standards are maintained in all retail formats globally.
- Partner closely with internal and external teams to oversee store / shop layouts, fixture design, merchandising displays, lighting, furniture, materials, and planograms.
- Evolve concepts through design development for management approvals.
- Utilize CAD for creating and modifying layouts and drawings daily.
- Use 3D software, specifically SketchUp with VRAY, for design tasks.
- Review VM, architectural, construction, and fixture / millwork shop drawings.
- Manage vendors, coordinate day-to-day activities, and gather costs for approvals.
- Understand material costs, construction trades, and processes that impact design.
- Collaborate with Creative and Marketing teams to implement new selling strategies.
- Stay informed about the competitive retail environment, focusing on the beauty marketplace.
- Apply knowledge of sustainable design methodologies and materials.
- Integrate digital technologies into the retail space.
