Part-Time Human Resources Coordinator

Tucker, GA – Hybrid Contract Role

Cogent, a dynamic technology integration company supporting hospitals, is seeking a Part-Time Human Resources Coordinator to manage key HR functions and ensure compliance. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a small business environment, enjoys a multi-faceted position, and is looking for a flexible schedule. This is a hybrid contract role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hiring & Recruitment:
    • Develops and manages hiring processes for all personnel, including exempt and nonexempt employees, interns, and temporary workers.
    • Leads sourcing and recruiting efforts, leveraging networking and employee referrals.
    • Extends job offers and ensures a smooth onboarding process.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance:
    • Assists managers and staff with employee relations matters, providing an entry point for issue resolution with senior management.
    • Handles employee exit interviews.
    • Administers and maintains human resource policies and compliance programs, including sexual harassment/discrimination policies and employee complaint procedures.
  • HR Administration & Compliance:
    • Maintains and updates job descriptions and employee records, ensuring compliance with federal and state labor laws.
    • Reviews the employee handbook annually and ensures alignment with company policies and best practices.
    • Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
  • Benefits & Payroll Administration:
    • Manages employee benefits, including COBRA administration and partial unemployment claims.
    • Prepares bi-weekly payroll spreadsheets and assists with bookkeeping tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 4 years in an HR support role, preferably within a small business setting.
    • Experience in employee relations, hiring, and policy development.
  • Certifications:
    • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS systems.
    • Familiarity with payroll systems and basic bookkeeping.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
    • Proactive problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Ability to type at least 55 words per minute.
    • Understanding of Georgia labor department rules and standards.
