POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Vice President of Sales will develop, implement, and continuously optimize sales systems, processes, and programs to ensure the effective execution of strategic sales initiatives company-wide. This role will focus on integrating sales strategies with operational functions, driving performance through the Operations team, and fostering a data-driven, results-oriented sales culture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales leadership, proven experience in process-driven sales execution, and a deep understanding of aligning sales operations with broader organizational objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Systems & Process Development
- Establish and refine scalable sales systems and processes to drive consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness across all sales functions.
- Implement structured sales workflows, CRM utilization standards, and best practices to streamline sales execution.
- Collaborate with Operations leadership to seamlessly integrate sales initiatives into daily community operations.
- Develop sales enablement tools and programs to enhance the efficiency of sales teams at all levels.
- Continuously assess and optimize the lead management process, ensuring maximum conversion rates.
Strategic Sales Execution
- Ensure that company-wide sales strategies are translated into actionable plans and implemented effectively at all locations.
- Partner with Marketing and Operations to align lead-generation efforts with conversion strategies.
- Develop regional and community-specific sales plans in collaboration with Operations to improve occupancy and revenue performance.
- Drive standardization and adherence to key sales processes, including Speed to Lead, follow-ups, and closing techniques.
Performance Management & KPI Optimization
- Define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve sales effectiveness at the corporate and community levels.
- Establish and lead weekly performance review processes with Operations to assess sales execution, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions.
- Work with operations teams to optimize revenue, analyze performance data, and implement targeted improvement initiatives.
- Develop and oversee a structured reporting system that provides senior leadership with clear insights into sales performance, trends, and opportunities.
Operational Collaboration & Alignment
- Work directly with Operations leadership to ensure sales efforts are fully integrated with community management and service delivery.
- Establish cross-functional sales and operations task forces to address underperforming areas and implement targeted strategies for improvement.
- Drive adoption of standardized sales processes at the community level, ensuring operational teams are fully equipped to support sales objectives.
- Facilitate regular alignment meetings with regional and community leaders to reinforce sales priorities and address challenges proactively.
Sales Training & Development Programs
- Oversee the design and implementation of comprehensive training programs to enhance the effectiveness of sales professionals and operational leaders involved in sales execution.
- Develop and execute "train-the-trainer" programs to equip Operations leaders with sales coaching capabilities.
- Ensure consistent onboarding programs for new sales and operations team members to reinforce best practices.
- Partner with HR and Operations to build a culture of continuous learning and performance-driven sales execution.
Process Improvement & Best Practices
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to refine sales methodologies, processes, and execution tactics.
- Identify and implement technology-driven enhancements to improve sales tracking, forecasting, and performance measurement.
- Standardize and enforce best-in-class lead management and sales conversion techniques across all communities.
- Oversee the development of sales resource libraries, including scripts, playbooks, and training manuals.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison between Sales, Operations, and Marketing to drive a unified approach to growth.
- Develop strong relationships with regional and community leadership teams, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
- Foster a performance-driven culture, providing mentorship and leadership to senior sales professionals and operational sales partners.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business management, sales and marketing, healthcare management, or related field.
- Graduate degree preferred.
Experience and Skills:
- At least ten (10) years of progressive sales leadership experience, preferably in multi-location, service-oriented industries (e.g., senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or real estate).
- Proven ability to develop and implement scalable sales processes that drive performance through Operations.
- Deep understanding of sales analytics, CRM utilization, and performance tracking.
- Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and drive accountability across operations teams.
- Experience in sales training, enablement, and coaching to drive continuous performance improvement.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and translate it into actionable strategies.
- Experience with Yardi or similar CRM systems is a plus.
Special Requirements:
- Must reside in the Phoenix Metro Area or be willing to relocate.
- The work setting is in-office, out of our corporate office in Scottsdale.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
