Network & VoIP Technician needed for a Contract to Hire in Denver, CO!
The Network & VoIP Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network and VoIP equipment across various locations. This role requires nationwide travel and involves providing day-to-day support for the network environment, configuring network switches and routers, and assisting in the design and development of scalable, maintainable, and highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.
During the first 6-8 months, travel will be 80-90% and will taper off drastically after that to occasional.
Qualifications:
- Preferred candidates possess a certificate or an associate's degree in electronics, telecommunications, or computer networking, along with 1-3 years of directly related experience.
- Certification such as CCENT, CCNA, or CompTIA Network preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of VoIP and networking software and hardware systems.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Experience managing network equipment using CLI.
- Working knowledge of wireless technologies and protocols.
- Technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including routers, switches (layer 2/3), remote access, DHCP, and DNS.
- Strong understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, ACL, and VLAN.
- Knowledge of UCaaS and CCaaS platforms and their integration with existing network infrastructure.
- Ability to manage and support UCaaS and CCaaS solutions to enhance communication and customer service capabilities.
- Experience programming and installing phones.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with establishing networking environments by installing, configuring, testing, and documenting equipment/network systems according to design and specifications.
- Provide day-to-day networking and telephony support to ensure reliability, availability, and serviceability with minimal interruption.
- Support the implementation and management of UCaaS and CCaaS solutions.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for UCaaS and CCaaS platforms to ensure seamless communication and customer service operations.
- Respond to work orders and tickets from users, analyze and solve reported network problems.
- Assist with network technology upgrade or expansion projects, including installation of hardware, software, and integration testing.
- Troubleshoot 802.1x security configurations.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing network outages (LAN and WAN).
- Evaluate and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Maintain personal knowledge and skills in the networking field through research and professional training.
- Strive for redundancy and availability of all networking resources.
- Serve as next-level support for problem resolution on helpdesk issues.
- Complete required training within established timeframes.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent travel across the country for up to a week at a time.
