The Edge & Cloud team at Cognex is developing a set of new and exciting applications that support and enhance our machine vision products by providing digital services on the edge and on the cloud.  

We are looking for an experienced Director of Product Marketing that will play a key role in our edge-to-cloud services productization strategy. This person will be responsible for defining and communicating the value proposition, positioning, messaging, and differentiation of our IoT platform and services to internal and external stakeholders. This role will collaborate with product management, sales, engineering, and partner teams to develop new apps and services on the edge and on the cloud that provide value beyond vision to our customers. 

Responsibilities 

• Customer & Market Insights: Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and voice-of-customer studies to identify trends and inform product development. 

• Product Launches: Lead cross-functional teams to bring new products to market, ensuring alignment across engineering, sales, and marketing. 

• Coordination & Planning: Coordinate with the corresponding stakeholders from the internal product teams and actively participate in the company’s annual planning processes 

• Messaging & Positioning: Craft compelling narratives that communicate the value of our products to customers, partners, and industry influencers. 

• Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute marketing strategies to position our Edge and Cloud solutions as key differentiators in the machine vision and industrial automation space. 

• Sales Enablement: Create collateral, presentations, and training materials to support the sales team in articulating our value proposition. 

• Thought Leadership: Establish our brand as a thought leader in Edge AI, cloud computing, and industrial vision applications through webinars, white papers, and industry events. 

• Partnership Development: Support strategic partnerships that enhance our ecosystem and expand our product reach into new areas. 

• Mentorship: mentor, and develop a more junior product marketing talent, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and customer-centricity. 

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus. 

• 7 years of product marketing experience in the IoT, cloud, or enterprise software industry, with a proven track record of launching and growing successful products and services on the cloud. Edge experience will be considered a plus 

• Deep understanding of the changing trends in the AI, Cloud and IoT market landscape, customer segments, use cases, and buyer personas. 

• Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and value propositions in a clear and compelling way. 

• Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and insights to drive decisions and actions. 

• Collaborative and cross-functional mindset, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and teams across the organization.
